Project: Vincent Park, Hyde.

Client: Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council.

These works where carried out in a country park were the existing public walk way has suffered from erosion from rainwater and piped surface water from the adjacent highway, the water had to be controlled as it had already taken its toll on quite a number of very mature trees (200 years old plus) by eroding away at their root system and with the high winds uprooting them.
Excavation was carried out to form a base for a National Trust approved Aggregate footpath and within this footpath pipework was strategically placed to alleviate erosion.
